Emerging Northern Ireland artists showcased in Brussels
Artworks from eleven artists from Northern Ireland will be exhibited at the Northern Ireland Executive Office in Brussels, as part of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Brussels Platform.
The Brussels Platform is collaboration between the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Executive Office in Brussels which involves local musicians, writers, dancers, theatre practitioners and visual artists showcasing their talents at a series of events in the city of the European Parliament to promote the culture and creativity of Northern Ireland.
The 11 artworks, which were purchased by the Arts Council at the University of Ulster’s end of Year Graduate Show in 2013 as part of their collection, will be exhibited in Brussels from 12th February until 15th August 2014.
Dr Suzanne Lyle, Head of Visual Arts, at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, commented, “The Arts Council is delighted to have these wonderful artworks from our collection showcased as part of the Brussels platform. It is a fantastic opportunity for our emerging artist to have their work showcased on a European stage and display the quality and artistic talent we have in Northern Ireland”.
