Craft Development Northern Ireland (established and supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland)

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team in a newly established organisation that will shape and define the development of the craft sector in Northern Ireland. This will include c oordination of sectoral development and sub-regional activity; advice and advocacy; exchange, collation and distribution of information; signposting; raising of quality and standards; benchmarking and highlighting best practice in the sector and the management of relationships designer/makers, craft development organisations other development agencies both inside and outside the region.

Applications are invited for the following positions:

Director

(Salary £29,835 - £32,127)

The Board of Craft Northern Ireland is looking for a candidate of outstanding commitment and ability. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the direction and management of Craft Northern Ireland. The successful applicant will have:

• Third level qualification in a relevant subject and three years relevant experience gained within the last five years or five years relevant experience gained within the last seven years
• The ability to develop, plan and implement the organisation’s strategy and policies and initiate a portfolio of projects
• The ability to assimilate and analyse information and to think strategically, formulate decisions and make recommendations

This is a demanding post in a newly created organisation which will demand the full-time commitment of the individual appointed.

Development Officer

(Salary £21,282 - £22,689)

The Board of Craft Northern Ireland is looking for a motivated person with the range of skills and experience necessary to contribute to the organisation’s success. Responsible to the Director, the successful candidate will have:

• Third level qualification in a relevant subject. This may be business, craft or design related.
• Knowledge of and a minimum of two years involvement within crafts (or creative industries) gained within the last four years.
• The ability to manage all aspects of projects relevant to the development of the sector.
• The ability to give advice and guidance from a position of knowledge and/or experience of the sector and liaise with a wide range of other development agencies.

This is a demanding post in a newly created organisation which will demand the full-time commitment of the individual appointed.

Administrative Support Officer (Part-time (18 ½ hours per week))

(Salary £13,581 - £14,532 pro rata)

The Board of Craft Northern Ireland is looking for a dedicated and capable part-time administrator. Responsible to the director, the successful candidate will have:

• Good standard of education to at least A’ level or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience gained within the last 4 years in a post involving general administrative duties.
• Previous experience of the provision of complex secretarial-type support including the preparation of correspondence, reports and minutes and good telephone skills.
