JOB DESCRIPTION

Objectives of the Post

To plan, manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the Arts Council’s ‘Building Peace Through the Arts – Re-Imaging Communities’ Programme.

To combine leadership, management and direction of a team comprising two Community Development Officers and one Programme Support Officer.

To manage a portfolio of clients.

 

Scope of Responsibility

The post holder will be responsible directly to the Head of Community and Participatory Arts.

Principal Duties

The following gives an indication of the main duties and responsibilities of the post. These may change over time. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and carry out any work that is reasonably required and appropriate to the grade.

Plan, manage and co-ordinate the Arts Council’s ‘Building Peace Through the Arts – Re-Imaging Communities’ programme and ensure ongoing compliance with its aims and objectives.

Assume responsibility for the realisation of key projects delivered by the programme.

Manage a team comprising two Community Development Officers and one Programme Support Officer.

Assess and evaluate applications to the programme and make recommendations for funding.

Manage a client portfolio in relation to funds available.

Be responsible for managing the overall budget.

Effective liaison with the Arts Council’s finance team in relation to cash-flow/ drawdowns.

Arrange and attend meetings with key stakeholders.

Act as the principal point of operational liaison with the programme’s Steering Group and report on progress accordingly.

Arrange for appropriate monitoring and evaluation.

Produce and deliver presentations on ‘Building Peace Through the Arts-Re-imaging Communities’ programmes and activities.

Establish links with the 14 Local Authority led Peace Partnerships including the six County Council areas making up the Border Counties of Ireland and eight clusters of the 26 District Councils in Northern Ireland.

Contribute to and update regularly the Arts Council website as it relates to the ‘Building Peace Through the Arts – Re-imaging Communities’ programme.

Liaise with the Arts Council Communications Unit in relation to all public communication and ensure compliance with other funder requirements in regards to publicity and communication.

Keep abreast of current trends and developments, contributing to the delivery of policies and strategies associated with this programme.

Undertake delegated tasks, set priorities and deadlines.

Undertake any other appropriate duties that may reasonably be allocated from time to time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Objective of the Post

To create, source and administrate digital content for Arts Council digital and print channels.

Scope of Responsibility

The post holder will be responsible directly to the IT Manager and Communications Manager for the day-to-day operational activities relating to the creation, sourcing and administration of digital content.

Principal Duties

Work with the Web Content Editor to develop a content strategy and implement the action plan.

Assume editorial responsibility for social media content as and when required.

Set up, manage and maintain a digital content editorial calendar by working with the Communications Team.

Research and source digital content, write and edit copy to a high standard on ACNI corporate issues, on funding, client achievements and good news stories within the wider arts sector.

Source, record and edit audio and video content for use across all ACNI digital platforms.

Develop and deliver innovative email marketing campaigns and social media campaigns integrated with specific marketing communications activities across the organisation.

To use digital marketing tools and channels to engage with stakeholders and increase brand awareness of ACNI as well as to increase awareness of new content across ACNI digital platforms.

To support other teams within ACNI in the use of digital media platforms for the purpose of client/user engagement and survey methods.

Analyse and evaluate website statistics and digital activity across all platforms and report to the Communications Team monthly.

Be the initial point of contact for all digital enquiries and respond according to ACNI protocol.

To work collaboratively with other members of the IT and Communications Teams within ACNI.

Provide staff training and support on use of social media.

Any other duties as appropriate. The IT and Communications Sections of the Arts Council provides support across the organisation, covering a wide range of technical issues and advice. Other tasks, appropriate to the grade and nature of the post may be required from time to time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

A vacancy exists in the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s IT Section for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable person who is keen to gain hands on work experience in IT.  Whilst the person appointed will be a member of the IT Team and would therefore gain valuable experience in a wide range of IT areas, including:

ACNI Web Sites

The Arts Council maintains a number of web sites, and is working on the development of new sites to promote the arts from Northern Ireland. 

The Arts Council’s main site is www.artscouncil-ni.org and this links to other specialist sites promoting particular projects

Future plans include the development of mobile apps for tablet PCs and smartphones

These web sites are being developed using HTML, ASP, C#, Flash and SQL and the successful candidate would be given experience in working in this area of application development.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of image, audio and video editing in order to prepare content for these web sites.

Data Management

The Arts Council maintains a number of databases for research purposes. During 2013 / 2014 new reporting mechanisms will be developed to streamline the reporting process. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn to design data extracting reports using Crystal Reports and SQL Server.

General IT Work Experience 

The Arts Council makes use of a Microsoft Windows network, which uses Windows 2003 / Windows 2008 Servers and Windows XP Professional / Windows Seven desktop. There are approximately 70 PCs, various peripheral devices (scanners, cameras etc) and printers within the organisation. The Council makes use of a range of software through from Microsoft Office on the desktops through to server based software, such as Hyper V, SQL Server and IIS.  The successful candidate would have the opportunity to develop skills in general network management and administration.
