The Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Chairman Rosemary Kelly and Chief Executive Roisín McDonough met with Arts Minister Edwin Poots on October 15th to reiterate the importance of the arts in advance of the forthcoming Comprehensive Spending Review.
Following the meeting Roisín McDonough said, “Minister Poots has confirmed that he has bid for an increase for arts funding of £26 million over the next three years.
“Given the challenges of the Comprehensive Spending Review we must continue to urge Government to seriously consider how a modest increase to our budget in relation to the overall Northern Ireland budget will make a dramatic difference to the arts and social and economic prosperity of Northern Ireland.”
