Rosemary Kelly, Chairman of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland said,

“Our meeting with the DCAL Minister was most valuable. We welcomed the opportunity to provide an update on the state of arts funding in Northern Ireland, the disparity of financial support for arts and culture here compared with other parts of UK and the Republic of Ireland and the Arts Council’s critical submission to government for additional funding.”

The Minister listened carefully to the arguments presented and pledged to work with the Arts Council in making the case for the arts to wider government through the Comprehensive Spending Review Process.
