STart UP - Putting art at the heart of your community |
07/11/2007
STart UP is a new initiative set up to provide support, including grant aid, to those organisations throughout Northern Ireland who have not yet availed of Arts Council funding, including Awards For All.
STart UP is aimed at strengthening arts activity within the community, making a real difference to groups who previously have not been engaged in the arts and/or those who struggle to find funding from other sources.
The objectives of STart UP are to help groups to run projects which:
• Support community development through the arts
• Bring people together through a range of quality arts-based activities
• Increase participation by making the arts more accessible
• Increase skills and encourage creativity at a local level
• Connect community and the arts
Who can benefit:
• Constituted Community/Voluntary Groups who have not accessed Arts Council funding or been
engaged in arts activities in the past and
• Groups operating in areas where there has been little or no arts activity
What STart UP can offer:
• Expert advice and support from Community Development Officers in organizing arts projects and accessing arts resources
• Financial support where applicable
If you are a Community or Voluntary group who have not yet accessed Arts Council funding and want to find out further information please contact:
