Folk, Roots and Traditional Music from Northern Ireland
The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and The Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission are working in partnership towards the creation of a promotional compilation CD that will highlight and showcase the wealth of diverse artists working in the musical genres of
The purpose of this initiative is to raise the profile and enhance the career opportunities of Northern Ireland musicians and artists performing and recording in the featured musical genres.
The intention is to compile the multi-artist compilation from amongst the practising professional and aspiring professional artists and musicians from Northern Ireland.
The compilation will be produced and duplicated during the summer months of 2005 and will then be proactively promoted to the local and key international broadcast and print media and to a wide range of relevant contacts within the music industry to include regional, national and international festival programmers, promoters, agents, record labels and publishers.
