Announcement on Arts Council of Northern Ireland Capital Programme

In light of capital resources from the National Lottery having diminished and the total fund available now standing at approximately £1million per annum, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland has taken the decision to prioritise minor works, refurbishment and equipment applications under its capital programme from now until further notice.

Applicants who intend to apply to Stage 3 of this scheme for new build or major schemes are not ineligible, but should bear this and the total fund available in mind when applying.

Applicants for minor works and refurbishments should also bear the total fund available in mind. For the present, applications should continue to be made on the application forms currently available to download from HERE, and Stage 3 applications should be received by the stated deadline (last working day of August); however, these forms and the application procedures for capital awards are currently being revised and new guidelines and application forms for capital projects beyond 2004 will be published in due course.

Stage 3 applicants of any description will need to demonstrate their fulfillment of project feasibility and development as before.
