A DAY OF CELEBRATION To Challenge and Inspire Creativity and Excellence ARTS AND DISABILITY IN IRELAND – 2001 THE ARTS & DISABILITY AWARDS IRELAND 2001-2002 VENUE: Island Arts Centre, The Island, Lisburn Monday 10th December, 2001 Celebration: 1.30 – 5pm Workshops: 2 – 5pm This one-day celebration has a dual and related function. Firstly to highlight the vitality and variety of the Arts and Disability sector in Ireland and secondly to announce and meet the winners of the first round of the Arts & Disability Awards Ireland 2001. Arts And Disability in Ireland - 2001 Everyone is welcome to this one-day event which will bring together disabled artists, arts and disability and disability organisations to showcase the variety, strength and talent within the sector throughout Ireland. There will be an opportunity to see an array of quality performances and exhibitions and also to participate in the many workshops available. Arts & Disability Awards Ireland – 2001/2002 Going from strength to strength, the Arts & Disability Awards Ireland continue the themes of Inspiration, Excellence and Creative Challenge and further the recognition of disabled artists within the Island of Ireland and beyond. The Awards offer a real opportunity to both emerging and established disabled artists across all art forms to undertake new and exciting projects. The successful applicants from the first round this year and from other years will be participating in the celebration. The second round of the Awards has been extended to Friday 18th January, 2002. The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon jointly funds the Awards. The Arts and Disability Forum administer the Awards.
