ARTS COUNCIL ADVISERS

The Arts Council intends to form a central listing of advisers to represent the widest possible expertise and to include artform specialists from all disciplines and in all types of working practice, partnership representatives, business representatives, public bodies & culturally diverse groupings.

Those selected will serve for a period of three years. The listing will be drawn upon for peer assessment for specific schemes (e.g. schemes under the Support for the Individual Artist Programme), evaluation, monitoring, advice, information & discussion of specific policy issues or other particular matters of current or future import to Council.

Final selection of the Central Listing will be made by a sub-committee of up to five Council members, in addition to the Chair or Vice Chair and the Chief Executive.

If notable gaps in the breadth of expertise are identified, Council reserves the right subsequently to solicit applications or co-opt people on to the Central Listing.

The Council will offer expenses only for work relating to assessments, monitoring or evaluations of specific arts events, projects or work, and will offer a standard rate (full day, half day) plus travel and associated costs for attendance at special meetings set up by Council and involving specialist advisers.

Application Forms are available on request from the Secretary to Council at the address below. Closing date for applications is March 23rd 2001
