Brian Ballard studied at Belfast College of Art and also at Liverpool Art College after which he became the Exhibitions Officer at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Ballard is a rich colorist well-known for his still lives, typically of flowers, jugs, figurines and fruit. He is also a skilled landscape and figurative painter and enjoys painting abroad, for example, in Greece, France, Finland and Australia. He has exhibited extensively over the years in Belfast, Dublin and London and his work is represented in many public and private collections.
