Martin Mooney is a painter of landscape and still life in a traditional manner. He studied at the University of Ulster Faculty of Art and Design from 1979-80, obtained an honours degree in Fine Art at Brighton Polytechnic in 1983 and then undertook postgraduate study at the Slade School of Fine Art between 1983 and 1985. He has been the recipient of many awards including the Richard Ford Award from the Royal Academy in 1985. Mooney has had many solo shows and his work has been exhibited in Dublin, Belfast, Toronto, Barcelona, London and Cyprus.
