Jasper McKinney was educated at the Ulster Polytechnic, Brighton College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art. His work, which is mostly in mixed media, explores relationships where he uses the displacement of everyday images to create strange, humorous and sometimes disturbing impressions. McKinney’s work has been shown at Kassel, Germany. The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh City Art Gallery, Whitechapel Open Exhibition, London, Orchard Gallery, Derry and the Municipal Gallery Cork. In 1985 he was the recipient of the Boise Travel Scholarship to Japan and in 1987 he received the Alice Berger Hammerschlag Trust Award.
