Michael McGuinness studied at Coventry Polytechnic, the Ulster Polytechnic and the Slade School of Fine Art in London. His work is figurative and landscape-based, much of it based upon visits to the Limavady and Portstewart area but also influenced by visits to Italy, France and Holland. Solo exhibitions have included One Oxford Street Gallery, Belfast, Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart and Gallery 47, London. His work has also been shown at the Whitechapel Open Exhibition, London, the William Morris Gallery, London and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
