Sophie Agajanian (b.1943, Haifa, Palestine)

Sophie Aghajanian was born in Haifa of Armenian parents and studied at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design from 1962-66 and at Brighton College of Art (Postgraduate Printmaking) from 1966-67. In 1977 she came to Northern Ireland with her husband, printmaker James Allen to set up the Print Workshop at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. She has exhibited her prints, drawings and paintings throughout Ireland and in 1982 was an invited artist at the Norway Print Biennale. She and is an academician of the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts and her work is represented in many public and private collections.
