The Arts Council of Northern Ireland announces how it will manage in-year cuts to arts funding

In August the Arts Council asked its exchequer funded clients to prepare impact statements on the unprecedented cut to in-year funding handed down by the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure. (2.1% immediate cut and a further projected cut of 2.3% following the October monitoring round).

After close scrutiny of the impact assessments provided by exchequer funded clients, the Arts Council has (today) announced that 2.1% of cuts will be taken on by the Council itself in an effort to lessen the damaging impact to arts organisations and to audiences.

Jeffrey Morgan paintings on display at Culturlann

The exhibition entitled, Crossing the Water: Aisling Gheal, features a series of paintings by Jeffrey Morgan of his wife, the writer Patricia Craig, covering a period of more than 40 years and includes two pieces on loan from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Collection.
